How to Monitor Data and Reduce Usage on Android Devices
Your Android Phone has a built in mechanism that allows you to set a limit on the amount of data that can be used on your phone. This setting will automatically prevent your phone from using Cellular Data, once the set data limit is reached.
Step 1. Tap on Settings > Data Usage.
Step 2. On the Data Usage Screen, make sure that you are on the Mobile Tab and Enable the option for Set Mobile Data Limit by moving the slider to ON Position.
Step 3. After Setting a Mobile Data Limit, tap on Limit to set the Data Usage Limit on your phone. You can also tap on the Warning field to set a Data Limit at which your phone should alert or warn you.
Note: You can also quickly set the Data Limit and Warning Limit by tapping and holding on the limit lines and moving them up or down by sliding your finger.
Unlike iPhone, Android Phones do not have an option to Reset data Limit to zero. However, you can set a monthly date at which your data will be Reset on your Android Phone.
Step 1. On the Data Usage Screen, tap on the Date field.
Step 2. Next, tap on Change Cycle.
Step 3. On the next popup, set the Date to the beginning date of your billing cycle.
This will ensure that the Data Usage on your Android Phone will always be measured from the first day of your billing cycle.
