UC Browser Is the Fastest Mobile Browser for Downloading According to QualiTest
QualiTest, one of the world’s largest independent software testing companies, confirmed that UC Browser is faster than Opera Mini and Chrome on Android in terms of downloading speed, after conducting a benchmark test. QualiTest was recognized as the world’s second largest pure play software testing company.
QualiTest was asked by UC Browser to conduct the tests, which measured the time consumed by UC Browser 10.0, Opera Mini 7.6 and Google Chrome 38 (all of which were the latest versions at the time of testing) to download different sizes of files under 2G, 3G and WiFi networks. There were 20 iterations on each browser under each network condition. All tests were performed on a Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 smartphone, which is currently one of the most popular phones in India. The test results confirm that UC Browser, the No.1 mobile browser in India in terms of market share, completed all the download tasks with the least time.
UC Browser is the fastest downloader among top mobile browsers
Tests show that, compared to Chrome and Opera Mini under various network conditions, UC Browser is always faster in terms of downloading speed.
Leveraging cloud technology to speed up downloading
To help people enjoy and share resources, UC Browser makes great efforts to enhance its downloading performance. By leveraging on cloud technology, UC Browser turns itself into a powerful downloading machine as well as a smooth browsing tool. To achieve the fastest download speed, it utilizes segmented file transfer and multi-threaded downloading technologies to split a single file into separate parts and download those parts simultaneously through multiple channels, while maximizing download efficiency based on the user’s network. Algorithms for downloading were also optimized to enhance the efficiency of fetching data from servers. In addition, UC Browser improved the efficiency of writing files to storage.
The downloading process of UC Browser
Thanks to these cloud technologies, UC Browser is also able to download multiple files simultaneously in the background and get automatic reconnection when the download is disrupted.
UC Browser Philippines users love to download stuff from the Internet
UC Browser also took a look at their own statistics and discovered an interesting finding. UC Browser found that users from emerging markets like Philippines and Indonesia prefer to use UC Browser to download files, especially Philippines users. On average, each UC Browser Philippines user downloads almost 6 files from the Internet every day. The probable reason for this is that in most developing countries, premium data plans are often too expensive for many users so downloading is preferred over online music and video streaming, which consumes a lot of data. Downloaded and cached multi-media files, in contrast, can be played offline without having to consume any data, and easily shared among friends.
